Class DescriptionsTuffet Class -- Tuffets are hot right now! In this class, you will make your very own tuffet! During the first session, we work on the tuffet top using pre-printed foundation piecing. It's easy sewing. If you've ever sewn before, you can make this tuffet top! In the second class, we construct the tuffet itself. The best part is, you walk out of class with a completed tuffet! This class works best as two sessions of four hours each, or as a weekend retreat.
I currently teach this class at Blue Bar Quilts in Middleton, Mill House Quilts in Waunakee, and Sunshine Stitches in Belvidere, IL Note: If you've already taken a class and you're making an additional tuffet at the second part of a shop class, or you're attending a retreat, please click here to submit your preference for feet. Thank you! Beginning Paper Piecing -- Once you learn this technique, you will open up a whole new category of patterns, including the very popular animal patterns by Violet Craft. In this class you will learn paper piecing as we make one wedge of this fun quilt.

In this class you’ll learn to baste your quilt and use a walking foot, but the focus will be on free motion quilting. Learn several different patterns suitable for beginners. With a little practice, you’ll be quilting those unfinished projects in to time. Let’s start turning those tops into quilts!
Beginning Quiltmaking -- This class is for students who know the basics of how to use their machine (how to wind a bobbin, set the stitch length, etc.) but have never taken a quiltmaking class before (or haven't taken one in a long time). In this class, students learn all of the basics, including rotary cutting, quarter-inch piecing, strip piecing, nesting seams, proper border technique, basting, straight-line quilting, and binding. This class works best at five or six sessions of two or more hours each, but it can be modified to fit your shop's needs.
